Exit Window stores your verified email, selected country, stay end date, checklist, notification preferences and subscription status. If you enable SMS, it also stores your verified phone number and consent timestamps. Exit Window does not request GPS coordinates.
Your free family preparation plan
The family preparation form works without an account. Its route notes, meeting place, trusted contact and checklist remain in browser memory until you select Save on this device. Saving keeps a separate plan per country in this browser's local storage; these details are not sent to CountrySignal or synced to your membership. Anyone using this browser may be able to see them. Clear this country's plan removes that local copy. Deleting your membership does not remove a local family plan.
Download offline copy creates an HTML file on your device. It may contain private contact details and a dated information snapshot; it does not refresh. Clearing a browser plan does not delete downloaded files. Delete those copies separately when you no longer need them. The link to the free map passes only the selected country. On the map, you can separately choose a precise place and dates for a local check.
Why we use this information
Your email verifies access to your account and receives notices about worsening monitored conditions. Your country and stay dates determine what is monitored. Your phone is used for verification and SMS notices only if you opt in. Signing in does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Payments and delivery providers
Stripe handles payment details, checkout and subscription management. CountrySignal stores the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, but does not receive your full card number. Where configured, Resend handles email and Twilio handles phone verification and SMS. These providers receive the contact details and message content needed to perform those services, and process data under their own terms.
Cookies and account access
Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect form submissions and connect a sign-in code to your browser. Sessions expire after 30 days. Email codes expire after 10 minutes and allow at most five attempts. These cookies are not used for advertising.
Notification history and retention
Your account and saved plan remain until you delete them. The monitoring worker removes notice history older than 90 days and expired sign-in records during its scheduled cleanup. Delivery records distinguish a provider accepting a message from confirmed receipt; accepted does not mean you read it. Provider billing records and infrastructure backups follow their respective retention schedules.
Pause, opt out or cancel
Use your dashboard to pause notices or disable SMS. You can also reply STOP to an SMS to opt out through the messaging provider. Pausing notices or reaching your stay end date does not cancel billing. Use Manage billing & cancellation to cancel renewal through Stripe. Membership normally continues until the end of your paid period.
Delete your account
Once your membership has ended, select Delete my account in the dashboard. This removes the application account, saved plan, sessions, phone details and notice history. Payment records held by Stripe may remain where required for billing or legal record keeping. For assistance, use the contact information on the CountrySignal legal page.
Information has limits
Exit Window is an information and monitoring service. Its 28-day view is a planning aid, not a crisis forecast. Consult your government's advice and follow local authorities. Delivery and data collection can be interrupted; receiving no notice does not mean conditions are safe.
